About The JARL QRP CLUB...
Club History
The JARL QRP CLUB is a non-profit club founded in June 1956 by seven QRP enthusiasts including Mr. Isao Shimizu, JA0AS, the first President and also Mr. Hisao Shono, JA1AA. The purpose of the club is to get to know each other well and to promote QRP (low power amateur radio) both locally and worldwide. The club now has about 300 members who share the same joy and interest in low power operation, homebrewing, club events and meetings.
Activities
The club sponsors various awards and contests, and set up a booth at the "Ham Fair" at Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center every year. We publish a monthly "THE QRP NEWS", and hold meetings periodically. Most of the members love homebrewing, operating indoors/outdoors, DXing, as well as rag chewing about various topics concerning QRP. The club members include a number of knowledgeable experts in electronics who are willing to assist you anytime you get stuck. You can also enjoy building club's original kits and projects. The club published a "QRP HANDBOOK" in 1996 and is planning another publication of the second version.
